-

Unlike the tutorial dungeon the boss room for the jungle dungeon is located outside.

Maybe it’s better to call it a boss field.

It was in the center of a circular area.

“Thats the dungeon boss, Anteater bear.”

“Anteater bear Is it a bear or an anteater”

“Anteater.”

It’s a boss form of the the quill monsters that appeared earlier, although it behaves more like a bear.

It doesn’t use its tongue, stands on its hind legs and swipes its paws to attack, its pretty fast on four legs too.

We were watching the boss while we ate the lunch Hannah made in the rest area.

“But it’s so weird, you can see it although you can’t touch it or go inside.”

Hannah stretched her hand out towards the boss from the safe area but she was blocked by a barrier.

This is how field bosses work, the barrier prevents you from damaging the boss without having to actual properly enter the boss area.

""

“Yeah..oh! This riceball, it has a fried egg and fried chicken in it!”

“Hehe it’s good isn’t it”

“Its amazing!”

It seems like lunch was made from the drops Hannah got in the tutorial dungeon.

It was seriously very good.

“Whats in this one”

“Oh, that one is just rice.”

“Its just a salted riceball”

It was still delicious though and I have no complaints, Hannah made them after all.

It’s not like I had a pretty girl making me riceballs in my other world.

“Welp, shall we do this then Hannah you stay back and have the recovery potions ready.”

“Ok, be careful Zephyrus.”

“Well it is my first boss monster after all so I’ll be careful.

But it is only the beginner dungeon so it’ll be worrying if I have too much trouble.”

I tried to reassure Hannah.

In [dun-life] this monster had various movement and attack patterns making countermeasures difficult to come up with.

But, it’s the boss that new players fight right after the tutorial so, it shouldn’t be too difficult to win.

That’s the fate of the first boss after all.

Hannah followed me through the gate.

The real version of the boss was quite intimidating, it’s red eyes focused on me and it started to move.

“Here I go! 《Appeal》!”

I used the skill before the boss could decide to target Hannah.

“Guruuuu!”

It’s red eyes are a little scary, completely different from the goblin.

“Lets start with this.

《Hero’s Sword》!”

This boss has a tendency to charge in from a distance so I timed it and opened up with the skill.

“Gaaaa!”

“Whoa!”

I swung my sword up into the monster’s face perfectly, but I was to late to avoid the rush and was knocked back.

My leg was scrapped and my hp went down by 4.

“So this is how damage feels.”

“Zephyrus are you ok!”

“I’m fine! It’s just a scratch.”

In fact there was almost no pain accompanying the injury, here Hp absorbs most of the pain and damage.

I turned my attention back to the boss.

It wasn’t far away so, I decided to charge in with my shield up.

“Gaaaaaaa!”

The anteaterbear stood up on its hind legs waving its front arms around.

I took the hit on my shield, the force from the blow was actually pretty light, and noticed the cool down on my skill was over already.

I activated [Hero’s sword].

I timed it so that I slipped in-between it’s arms with the attack.

“Haaaaa!”

“Gaa! Gagaga.”

Critical hit! The boss suffering a large amount of damage all at once fell.

A chance!

I couldn’t use my skill again because of the cool down so I attacked normally.

“Gagagagagaga.”

The bosses hp dropped to 0 and it disappeared.

The first boss battle ended quickly, plus when it disappeared, it left behind a lot of drops.
