Henry Gibson Movies

2007
Genres: Action    Comedy

Starring: Rob Schneider, David Carradine, Jennifer Morrison, Scott Wilson, Richard Kind, ...

I find the general lack of interest towards this comedy rather
disturbing. This message coming all the way from Europe, Bulgaria. The
movie is playing in theaters as of this week, and to be honest it is
just as hilarious and similarly spirited to other Schneider flicks. I
went to see this expecting a few good laughs and that's what you get.
The funny moments generally arise...

Genres: Horror

Starring: Jayce Bartok, Henry Gibson, Lara Harris, Scott Lowell, Dick Miller, ...

I saw this one at the Midnight Madness screening in Toronto and I have
to say I was thoroughly entertained. Before the film the producer
mentioned he wanted to bring back an Amicus-style anthology film, which
it definitely captures the feeling of, however with a very
distinctively Japanese feel (most notably in Sean Cunningham's episode)
as well as a twinge of Cronenberg-st...

Genres: Comedy    Romance

Starring: Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Christopher Walken, Rachel McAdams, Isla Fisher, ...

Saw a advance screening of this on Friday night. Hilarious doesn't do
the film justice. You know how in most films you remember the funniest
parts and bring them up as you leave the theater? This one, it's hard
to remember the best parts because there's so many of them.Unlike his previous films, where Vince Vaughn is usually reduced to the
role of 'scene stealer', here we get a ful...

Genres: Comedy

Starring: William Atherton, Denise Dowse, Dara Tomanovich, Kevin West, Kylie Minogue, ...

Admittedly, the scene where Bud & Doyle inhale laughing gas ala Dennis
Hopper in "Blue Velvet" is the funniest spoof I've ever seen in a movie!!
All in all, this was a fun, feel good movie, and yes, Pauly Shore does get
VERY annoying at times, but hey, this is all just for fun. Shakespeare it
ain't, but if you're in the mood for a fun, feel-good movie to watch on a
lazy weeken...

Starring: Richard Kind, Dana Hill, Anndi McAfee, Tony Jay, Rip Taylor, ...

Tom and Jerry, my absolute favorite childhood cartoon, I couldn't wait
to wake up each morning to watch the crazy cat and mouse go after each
other. Now I had heard a little bit about Tom and Jerry the movie, but
never had an interest just because it frightened me that it was made in
the early 90's, just knowing the time and what they would do to butcher
our lovable ico...

Starring: Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Rick Ducommun, Corey Feldman, ...

Okay, I know Tom Hanks has done some greater than great work. Forest Gump,
Saving Private Ryan, and The Green Mile are truly American classics. For
some reason (maybe I AM a weirdo) this is my favorite movie of his. It has
a simple plot, a light tone, shades of horror, and some GREAT one-liners
that have stayed in my memory since I was nine years old. This is one of
those mo...
1987
Genres: Action    Adventure    Comedy    Crime    Sci-Fi

Starring: Dennis Quaid, Martin Short, Meg Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Fiona Lewis, ...

This 1987 film is a wonderful combination of sci-fi, comedy, romance
and thriller elements. It is briskly paced despite being almost two
hours in length, and features superb performances from the leads;
Dennis Quaid is excellent as usual, as is Meg Ryan in her best role.
Yet the plaudits must go to Martin Short in a truly great performance
he has never matched. He just needs th...

Genres: Drama    Music

Starring: David Arkin, Barbara Baxley, Ned Beatty, Karen Black, Ronee Blakley, ...

The opening shot of "Nashville" shows a van with a loudspeaker offering
platitudes from Hal Phillip Walker, Replacement Party candidate for
President and the perfect middleman for the movie "Nashville," which like
the never-seen candidate offers a series of apparently disconnected
vignettes that touch on deeper truths but remain enigmatic and yet, somehow,
substantial and truth...
1973
Genres: Crime    Drama    Thriller    Mystery

Starring: Elliott Gould, Nina Van Pallandt, Sterling Hayden, Mark Rydell, Henry Gibson, ...

The very embodiment of '70s Hollywood genre revisionism, Robert
Altman's film of The Long Goodbye stands as one of his most accessible,
wittily misanthropic films, and probably the finest performance of
Elliot Gould's career to date.A warning for Raymond Chandler purists: you probably won't like this
film. Altman and screenwriter Leigh Brackett had quite a task in
adapting Chan...

Genres: Animation    Family    Musical

Starring: Debbie Reynolds, Paul Lynde, Henry Gibson, Rex Allen, Martha Scott, ...

I am a fan of the book, and not to mention that I am also an extremely
enormous fan of this spectacular movie! In my honest to goodness point
of view, this movie is fantastic! This movie is something very
spectacular and remarkable, the results are something incredible to
see! So on the whole, this movie is one of the greatest animated
feature films of all time, and not only th...

Genres: Comedy    Sci-Fi

Starring: Jerry Lewis, Stella Stevens, Del Moore, Kathleen Freeman, Med Flory, ...

On the Nutty Professor DVD extras, Jerry Lewis says that he had been
"enthralled with Jekyll and Hyde" since he was a kid. So it's only
logical that he'd long to create this "Jekyll and Hyde comedy/musical".
Oddly, The Nutty Professor tends to be read as only a comedy, in the
modern colloquial sense of that genre term, as "a film that's supposed
to make you laugh", but there's ...
