There is a question mark after the title of my review above, and with
good reason. The movie was well filmed, looked quite professional with nice takes
and good camera-work. But everyone loves a good story and good acting.
This is where the Investigators fall short. While watching the movie, I was reminded of those old family movies we
used to see in the 60's and 70's, you ...

If "The Bank Job" were fiction, it would be a fairly decent robbery
caper. As it is, "The Bank Job," a veritable documentary and realistic
whodunit, is awesome. Unlike most films, this one requires a couple of advance tips: First,
watch it with the improbable idea in mind that most of it is actual,
hard-to-believe truth; second, don't be impatient. As the story of a

I've just come back from the premiere at the London film festival and
I've thoroughly enjoyed, it but before I say anything, do not expect it
to be "a mix between V for Vendetta and the Dark knight" which is a
complete nonsense I read earlier, it's nothing like it. In fact, the sci fi element is only a small (albeit crucial) part to
the story, most of it taking place in...

the film would have a US theatrical release - don't you think. Saw the
film, loved the books as a kid, but please what what this all about?
Nothing of the flick reminded me of the lovely books. The kids are too
polished, too wise, too boring - that is not the acting, but the weak,
weak script they had too suffer trhough. Why South Africa? I can tell
you, cause it is cheap t...

Let's keep this short and sweet. If you enjoy the video games, you will
more than likely enjoy the movie. It's very easy to follow, the acting
can be downright terrible at times (but very solid from Olyphant who
was a GREAT choice to play Agent 47), the special FX are loud and neat
to look at, there's lots of explosive action-packed gun fights, and the
hot chick get...

Before I watched this movie I assumed it was going to be a bad "B" type
movie that would be heavy on the cheese and light on substance. Imagine
my surprise when halfway through the movie I was riveted to the plot
line and actually enjoying the suspense. I can't say much about the
movie without giving away to much so I'll say somethings not concerning
the plot. Christoph...

I will admit, I was a fan of the first film. While I didn't think it
was one of the greatest films created, I did think that it had quite a
bit of potential coupled with ample originality. It was fun, exciting,
and it seemed like everyone involved seemed to be enjoying themselves.
I only with that I could say the same for the sequel, Agent Cody Banks:
Destination London. From t...

First, the positives – Colin and Hugh are still hitting their marks.
Even though he might not know why, Mark positively adores Bridget.
Colin gets that and twinkles, melts and warms in all the right places.
Same goes for Daniel– he's drawn to his Bridge for some inexplicable
reason. Hugh Grant really ought to be looking for a patent for that
mojo he works so well. All...

How many viewers of "I Capture the Castle" have a legal background and
understand the humor underlying the family name of the central characters,
"Mortmain?" Literally, "mortmain" means "Dead Hand" and in law it denotes
the attempt of a person to control his property postmortem. The humor here
is that the paterfamilias, James Mortmain (well played by Bill Nighy) is a
dried up...

I rented this film expecting it to be like The Point Men, Vercingetorix
and
Lambert's latest crap films. But I was surprised it wasn't that bad. It
runs
at less then 90 minutes...although it can be a quite boring film (feels
like
2 hours). The film tells the story of a rich lawyer (Dennis Hopper) who
lives in South Africa and his life is in danger, some voodo/vodoo

As a huge fan of the books, I had incredibly high expectations of the movie.
In order for the movie to work for me, it had to capture Bridget's
plucky-heroine character and the hilarious-poignant emotions that are in the
book. Needless to say, `Bridget Jones's Diary' the movie worked very, very,
very well. Although Helen Fielding also wrote the screenplay (w/ Richard
Curtis,...

Lost Empire, a VERY strange title for a retelling of the old Chinese
classic
adventure "Journey to the West", is a mixed bag of a film. David Hwang's
screenplay is in many respects a sequel to the original story, as opposed
to
being a modern rendition of the original story. I regard this as a mistake
as I believe Mr. Hwang lost more by giving up on the original characters

Released in a badly cut version in 1979 just before the resurgent
interest in Burt Lancaster for his performance in "Atlantic City and
Peter O'Toole for "Stunt Man", this fine historical epic died an
ignominious death at the box office, on the second half of a double
bill with the horror film "Silent Scream". It was originally planned by
Cy Endfield as a companion film to his 1...
