Harry Morgan Movies

1995
Genres: Documentary    Biography

Starring: Alec Baldwin, James Cagney, Mike Connors, Nancy Davis, Clint Eastwood, ...

Narrated by Alec Baldwin, this documentary from 1995 describes the life
of Hollywood director William Wellman. Included are anecdotes by all
his stars (check out that the cast list... he sure worked with them
all!) As Wellman had died in 1975, the stories of his childhood, war
record, and Hollywood days are told by his family, friends, and the
stars of his films. Quite well don...

Genres: Comedy    Crime

Starring: Dan Aykroyd, Tom Hanks, Christopher Plummer, Harry Morgan, Alexandra Paul, ...

I noticed that many of the comments on this film were negative. Those
people need to loosen up and get "just the facts." Maybe I see more of the
humor because I am a law enforcement officer, but this film is a scream. It
takes everything that the original series did, and does it with tongue
firmly planted in cheek. Dan Ackroyd's deadpan Jack Webb impersonation is a
riot, as...

Genres: Animation    Adventure    Family    Fantasy    Romance

Starring: Victor Buono, James Gregory, James Earl Jones, Harry Morgan, John Ritter, ...

When I saw this film at a local cinema, I was expecting a simple child's
fare. What I got was a most profound experience.A land ruled by magic is brought to a perilous crossroads, and an evil
wizard (voiced magnificently by James Earl Jones) seeks to bring about war
and chaos. The good wizard Carolinus (voiced by Harry Morgan) seeks help and
finds a most unusual ally...a young fant...

Genres: Family    Comedy    Western

Starring: Tim Conway, Don Knotts, Tim Matheson, Kenneth Mars, Elyssa Davalos, ...

I have never laughed so hard at a movie in my life. I'm very disappointed
in
the rating this comedy has gotten... this film was one of those rare
sequels
that surpasses the original. A definite must-see for all Tim Conway fans
("Where is your horn, little boy blue.")Granted, there are some smarmy moments... but Tim and Don shine in this
comedy for the whole family!...
1978
Genres: Sci-Fi    Family    Comedy

Starring: Ken Berry, Sandy Duncan, Harry Morgan, Roddy McDowall, McLean Stevenson, ...

A spaceship makes an emergency landing on Earth and the pilot -a talking
cat- run into spies, the army, Ken Berry and Sandy Duncan in his mission
to
get back home. Exciting for youngsters, if not as funny as the average
Disney-comedy. A nice cast (with support from the likes of McLean
Stevenson,
Harry Morgan and Roddy McDowall) although Ken Berry has always seemed like
...
1976
Genres: Drama    Western

Starring: John Wayne, Lauren Bacall, Ron Howard, James Stewart, Richard Boone, ...

All of the credit in the world goes to John Wayne for making this film.
Here you have the biggest star in Hollywood history, making a film that
symbolizes his life. You have an aging actor, whose best days were past
him, portraying an aging gunfighter, whose best days were behind him.
You have a character trying to fit into a world that had changed too
much. Much like Wayne was...

Genres: Family    Comedy    Western

Starring: Bill Bixby, Susan Clark, Don Knotts, Tim Conway, David Wayne, ...

In the 1970's, Disney churned out cheap film after cheap film meant to draw
children in without spending much money. They had mediocre acting, mediocre
laughs and often obscure and pointless plots.Out of all these films, The Apple Dumpling Gang is one of the few that
succeeds in capturing the audience. This is entirely due to the splendid
performances by Don Knotts and Tim Conway. ...
1971
Genres: Family    Comedy

Starring: Kurt Russell, Joe Flynn, Harry Morgan, Wally Cox, Heather North, ...

I think most of us know what is a Disney film. It is for all the family
to enjoy, often taken from a classic story. Don't get me wrong. I love
Disney films. Apart from Dick Van Dyke's goddawful accent in Mary
Poppins, Disney films are characterised by quality and attention to
detail. But a film that launches an attack on the entertainment
industry and corporate America, now tha...

Genres: Drama    History    Romance

Starring: Spencer Tracy, Fredric March, Gene Kelly, Dick York, Donna Anderson, ...

Like Elmer Gantry I first saw Inherit the Wind in the theater in
Brooklyn when I was 13 years old. Both of those films dealt with issues
arising from the Roaring Twenties out of religion. At the time I
thought both were great dramatic pieces dealing with issues of the
past. I thought how much we'd grown up as a country from 1925 to 1960.If you had told me that 46 years later we'd b...
1955
Genres: Drama    Romance

Starring: Olivia de Havilland, Robert Mitchum, Frank Sinatra, Gloria Grahame, Broderick Crawford, ...

"Not as a Stranger" is an old fashioned medical
melodrama. The basic plot involves a
young man (Mitchum) who is obsessed with
becoming a doctor. Unfortunately, his
obsession causes pain and unhappiness
for the people around him.Naturally, much of the medical material is
out of date. Some commonplace matters in
1955 now strike us as incredible: a medical
class w...

Starring: Gary Cooper, Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Bridges, Katy Jurado, Grace Kelly, ...

John Wayne was totally wrong to call this movie un-American. Courage
and cowardice are universal emotions, and the attitudes of the
characters in High Noon are, I think, incredibly truthful and telling.
I know that if I lived in the Wild West, had a job and family, and was
asked to stand up and fight against a gang of gun-toting psychos I
would probably not be able to do it. Th...
