Just watched "Ghost Machine" with a few friends (all nerds) and I
actually quite enjoyed it. It had some weak points but overall was a
interesting and enjoyable movie. But if you don't like sci-fi and horror combined - stay far away from
this one. The horror elements are not that scary and the sci-fi is not
that convincing. But my friends and I still enjoyed it - especially

Cedar Boys manages to be intriguing and disappointing at the same time.
It is an interesting story portraying Australian youths without
including surfers, dingoes or Aborigines, which was a welcome change.
It was also interesting to see how the former Lebanonese citizens are
able to adapt to a new society where employment options are limited
especially for the teenagers or youn...

I have to disagree with the negative comments. Of the six or so films I
saw, this one was the best. First off, it was beautifully shot. The
scenery that was captured is going to get people to visit Napa on it's
own. Alan Rickman was as great as always, and Freddy Rodriguez was
amazing. Bill Pullman's character, as the owner of the winery, had a
terrific arc. I understan...

This was a surprisingly good, old fashioned ghost story.I haven't seen the original and I'm not a fanboy, so I didn't have any
axes to grind going in. The cast is very good if somewhat
underutilized, the photography and musical scoring are excellent, and
there's a plot twist that caught me completely by surprise.Watching the previews you'd think this was the one mil...

I went to see an advance screening of "Transformers" tonight, and I
walked out of the theater in disbelief. Not because the movie wasn't
what I thought it would be, but on the contrary, it was so much more
than I had ever expected.Going into the theater, I was expecting a corny kids movie with decent
acting and a fantastic, unrealistic plot. Needless to say the plot was
ind...

All right, let's be realistic about this. Nobody goes into a movie
produced by WWE Films (whose owner has challenged God to a wrestling
match), directed by a former porn director (the man gave the world the
Between the Cheeks trilogy), starring a wrestler named Kane, and
expects a little slice of art on a golden platter. If you do then you
probably need to find something ot...

As a part time comic geek and a full time movie geek I was surprised
that anyone would green-light a film based on the old Marvel comic "Man
Thing." Obviously I had no expectations for this straight to DVD
release when I saw it last week but all in all I was pleasantly
surprised. Now don't get me wrong, "Man Thing" is by no definition the
best comic book film ever made but it i...
