You'll see me as a random extra in the crane shot of the poolside party scene. Where you won't see me though, is in the credits as one of the PAs in spite of the slaving I did. In all seriousness, I'm not bitter about the experience, but the set decoration is possibly the worst I've ever seen. I've been looking forward to seeing the finished product for thre...

One of the most beautifully crafted movies of the past 10 years. Why this movie is going by with very little publicity is beyond me. It has incredible screenplay, incredible directing (Michael Mann puts his trademark two cents in with the camera work and gritty feeling left from the lighting) and above all, great acting. Foxx and Cruise work together in a way unrivaled since......

If the writers of a movie don't care about the characters inhabiting the world they create, nor the actors portraying them, or the director ostensibly creating a dynamic, well it doesn't seem realistic the audience will care either. To call this movie slapdash is an undeserved compliment--it's likely they figured it was a lost cause and that no amount of work would improve it.

Mercury Rising is a very conventional "government bad guys" story about evil agents out to kill an autistic boy who can break their top code. Of course, the premise of the movie, that the government would rather kill someone who can break their code rather than fixing the problems with the code, is incredibly stupid. If one boy can break the code, isn't is reasonable that som...

The First Nightmare on Elm Street was scary and original. It had the great idea of a killer killing people in their dreams. All of its sequels (except for part 2, which went in a horrible direction) just built on to that idea, and the idea wasn't scary anymore as the series progressed. Now with New Nightmare, Wes Craven came up with another original idea. It turns out that Fred...

I was saddened that this movie had such a low rating. I've watched it many, many times over the years, and it continues to entertain. It is, perhaps, the last good "hacker" film (well, 23 (1998) also comes to mind, but that isn't widely available in English). The math is believable (Janek's lecture makes sense), as is the technology (except for the Hollywood-ish decryption dis...
