After watching this film, I am left completely confused. Normally I do
well with confusing films, such as Mulholland Drive, but this was just
completely senseless. I felt as though each part was written by someone
else without looking at the previous parts, and then they just went
ahead and made it without looking at the script at all. I had a lot of
hope, coming into this but ...

I saw this film last night. I had been traveling, and did not see any
advertising cause I was not watching TV. Point? I went into the film
without any real expectations. I only knew the cast and saw a short
blurb on the premise.Question?? – Is Kate Beckinsale's agent and representatives TRYING to
Whiteout her career? Her agent should be shot for getting her involved

My wife and I are huge TK fans. When he was in the 'burgh last week
telling the concert goes about the movie, we thought "what the heck,
lets check it out." We should have been tipped off by the completely
empty theater, but we figured, its 7:00 on a Monday night so maybe
they're just really slow. Wrong-o. Toby, you write great songs and your
singing is fantastic, but y...

I loved the great relationships in this buddy movie for gals, and wish
I could see more movies about real people in dramatic/comedy- so
interesting and a great discussion starter too about life, death and
what to do with the remains. All the stars give great performances,
Jessica Lange is stunning and sweet and really lovely - she makes her
character someone you wish you knew! ...

If you are wary of seeing the same movie redone again, and again, don't
let that stop you from watching this version of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. No, it is not perfect, and yes it does drag a bit, but there is enough
here to recommend it to any horror fan. There is an interesting enough plot twist that explains Mr. Hyde's
existence that gives a new angle to this old story. Dougray S...

"Killer Wave" was shown in Two-2hr time slots, so I recorded these so I
could watch them together. I find that most TV movies of this length
lose any rhythm when watched on multiple nights and, of course, broken
by commercials. With that condition, I enjoyed it. I found the story
interesting and the production good. It would be a movie that most
family members could watch, alth...

I read the first review here after the original airing on April 21st
2006 and was flabbergasted at the negative response.Having just rewatched it and then returning here to reread that review
and those posted since, I can't help but feel that some people just
don't appreciate fine cheese at its smelliness. This is a great movie! I highly recommend it. As much as "Men in Black"

Besides a mediocre performance from Tom Skeritt this adaptation of
Steven Kings 600+ page novel is up to par with some of his best big
screen productions. Each scene is expertly crafted right out of the
pages of Desperation (probably due to the fact that King wrote the
screenplay). The police precinct including the desk and each cell
seemed as if it were pulled straight from th...

Hmmm...where do I start? Should I point out to a recent reviewer, who
sarcastically pointed out that Nigeria has an air force and could have
bombed the group fleeing through the jungle, that the "bad guys" are rebels,
not government forces? Since the rebels just killed everyone in the
President's family, they probably scared off the government pilots, too.

This is a good movie, and includes some very good performances. It is not
a
great movie, however. While the writer understood that the complexity of
the Vietnam "problem" lay in the various individuals involved in "The Path
to War," he misunderstood where the contradictions and conflicts of those
characters lay.For example, given the material, and in spite of a peculiar attem...

If you're in the mood for a good dosage of tears and laughs, "Colored
Eggs"
finds a perfect balance and delivers powerful performances by Faye Dunaway
and Lauren Holly. This is the best Dunaway work I've seen in years and
certainly Holly's finest moment in a dramatic role to date. Director
Martin
Guigui portrays a "Robert Altman" like world of eccentric and soulful

I don't know why people are saying this is a horrible movie. It's
actually a very enjoyable movie, but was a bit short, and short on
character development. The actors do decently for being mostly TV
actors, and the scenery was great, as well as the music. And it doesn't
suffer from pacing problems. I almost wish I could have seen it in the
theatre. Overall a good movie. As far ...

AS a brother of an mentally challenged sister, this movie captures my
heart. The innocence and honesty the movie presents through out the
film is outstanding. I have been to many functions involving mentally
challenged kids and adults from Christmas parties to the Special
Olympics. As a volunteer at these events I can speak from experience,
that the true feelings were caught in...

If you're looking to dissuade your daughters from the fella she
adores but you think little of, have her sit through this. Ira Einhorn
was a celebrity of the peace / earth movements of the 60s and
70s. Extremely well respected, his peacenik persona cloaked a
darker side that hated women and thought very little of anything
other than himself and his personal causes. When his ...

Reading other peoples' reviews, I see a split 50/50 argument where one side
loves the movie and the other hates it. I am not one bit surprised, due to
the importance of the film, and I feel this is proof that Contact is one of
the most powerful movies of the decade. Like the reaction from the civilians
to the machine, a movie with this much heavy firepower is likely to get both

By all rights this should have been yet another R-rated sex and violence
flick about a piece of immoral jailbait having her wicked way with everyone
around her, but the directing and acting are good enough to make it more
effective than most, even touching. The atmosphere is almost haunting, and
the relationships between the characters (especially the two teenage girl
leads) a...

A stunning realization occurs when some sort of phenomenon takes
place!! Be it, firecrackers going off, witnessing a robbery, a

that matter, any other spectacular occurrence !! In the case of the
Maclean Family, however, reveille was something which was no more
complex than their day to day lives..Montana ...

I really didn't know what to expect when I rented Knight Moves. A friend of
mine knows that I loved thrillers and was surprised that I never saw it.
This is a very well-made film. It had me guessing the whole time. The
last 30 minutes are so tense that I almost dug a hole in the couch with my
hands. It's funny how you see bits and pieces in other movies. When I was

SINGLES is a charming, romantic movie and one of Cameron Crowe's best. An oft-heard criticism of this film is that it's not an authentic portrayal
of the Gen-X culture of the early 90's, but I've yet to see that done well
in any film.More importantly, the film never claims to be a Gen-X film. It's set in
Seattle during the height of Seattle Sound but the cast is made up of driven

I know, I know. "The Rookie" is a critically lambasted action film, and from
what I've read from the other IMDb users, it's considered one of the worst
films since "Ishtar"! But, I'll cut "The Rookie" some slack, because I
happen to enjoy this flick pretty much. Yeah, the dialogue is a bit crappy,
especially by Pepe Serna's lines; he jitters while he talks most of the
length of...

Genres: Drama    Romance

This film is worth watching for two reasons. First, it is based on a
tragic, real life event. As such, an enhanced credibility sustains the
film's underlying premise, and thus renders a much greater potential
for viewer impact and depth of meaning, as opposed to a work of
fiction. Second, quite aside from its autobiographical roots, the film
has entertainment value, expressed m...

Going in a different direction from the previous two movies in the
series, this one took a few chances. The high-rise, mirrors, a new
Kane(sad what happened to Julian Beck), etc. I loved this movie for
those reasons. Not saying I didn't enjoy the other two because those
were excellent, but it seemed like there wasn't anything in there to
make them considered a horror movie exce...

Genres: Action    Drama    Romance

Starring: Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, Tom Skerritt, ...

I can't believe the reviews I have read about Top Gun being technically
inaccurate, not enough character development, an overall simple and childish
plot... gimme a freegin' break! This film was made to look cool, sound cool,
and define cool. Yeah, okay, the MiG-28s are really F-5 Tigers; I've read
the 'goofs' section before. And Tom Cruise's height. And about 'Maverick
going s...

I've watched Wisdom several times, and still enjoy it every once in a
while. I've always been attracted to films with an original idea in
them, and this is that kind of flick.I like Emilio Estevez anyway, and to see him get his first chance to
direct was cool. Demi Moore turns in an enjoyable, believable
performance too, as did Tom Skerritt and Veronica Cartwright. The particulars o...

It's Fun. It's as simple as that. The premise is not actually to far
fetched. Who hasn't thought about going into space? And in this the kids get
to do it. There are a few "you did it because you're a team" slushy American
moments but otherwise it's a great harmless rainy day movie.

"The Dead Zone" is one of the few King novels turned into really good
movies. It is very true to the book in its first two thirds and
integrates some nice new elements in the last. Making Sarah a supporter
of Greg Stillson was a brilliant idea that adds a bit more intensity to
the finale. Some details of the novel are only hinted at or cut out

No, not the very wonderful TV series. The Robert Altman film with Donald
Sutherland as Hawkeye, Elliott Gould as Trapper John, and Radar as Radar.
This is a dark comedy, but it's a delight from beginning to end. And even
more effectively than the TV show, the movie illustrates the complete
insanity of war. (But even the movie doesn't depict Jesus on the cross
