Nicolas Cage takes a lot of flack for his acting choices. The man is
likely the most inconsistent actor in the entirety of Hollywood,
jumping from headlining critically acclaimed films like Leaving Las
Vegas and Adaptation to headlining putrid, bottom of the barrel films
like Next and The Wicker Man. But going through his filmography,
sorting the good from the bad, and the bad ...

"Season of the witch," is an action-horror film that barely achieves
mediocrity. 40 Million dollars, talented actors, and a supernatural
story are usually enough to guarantee that a film will provide a decent
escape for 90 minutes. SotW is one of the rare examples when money,
star power, and story synthesize into a slipshod mess that is not able
to cater to anyone but...

I just watched this at London Film Festival & went in expecting to hate
it as I loved the original. But I have to say, the film is excellent,
certainly Cage's best film & best performance since Leaving Las Vegas.
Herzog has done a brilliant job & the film stands on it's own, apart
from the Ferrara film. I won't spoil bits by mentioning them, but the
film has seve...

I can't believe people are calling this the "best SF movie of the

I don't care how interesting the scenery is if you know the entire
story arc in the first 45 seconds - and you haven't even watched the

Next is a much better movie than I expected to see, having read some of
the reviews which called it disjointed and silly. Quite to the
contrary, I found it deeply absorbing. I quickly picked up on the

I will keep it short and simple. Just watched it, paid 10$ for it, it
is worth it. Not much of details as you would expect out of a great

the intricate plans they carry out in the movie. The subtle comedy is

I honestly didn't think it was very good at all, though I respect the
intentions of the filmmakers. Whatever one wants to say about Oliver

When I first saw the advertisements for "The Weather Man", it seemed
like the movie was going to be another formulaic, feel good Hollywood

values. The marketing likely scared away a lot of people who would

Ridley Scott and Nicolas Cage deliver some of their best and most

I guess it's hard to address serious issues when you're dealing with a
plot about a flamboyant southern belle who raises her son to be a
natural-born-whore, because this movie is considered to be a failure
even though it really isn't. It's neither the ready-made slice-of-life

I've read many of the comments regarding Adaptation, and it seems as

make claims such as, "Kaufman's script was great until the end," or,

and then do it in the end anyway?"I don't think most people understand why he did it.Throughout the movi...

I learned a lot about World War II from this film. First of all, during
this war it was a custom of both the Japanese and Americans to scream
every time you shoot or get shot (even with about 30 bullets in your
chest you can still scream apparently). Secondly, Japanese soldiers do
not like cover. They like to stay out in the open, and will not fire

This film (to me) is one of the best adaptations of the Charles Dickens

This movie has taken a lot of stick. It was slated by critics when it
came out and was blamed for wrecking Nicolas Cage's career. The thing I
don't think people get is that it's not meant to be an epic, Oscar
contender of a movie, it's just some brilliant "Bruck-buster" action at
its best. Fast cars, quick editing and a great soundtrack - it does
exactly what it says on the tin...

This is not "It's a Wonderful Life." While it is a "feel good movie," it is

Firstly, this film is hugely under-rated. For those reviewers who call
this film a "waste of time" or place it in the "hall of shame", maybe
they should go back to watching more obvious and simple films. 8mm focuses on "snuff" movies and follows Nicholas Cage as he ventures
into the dark underworld of the pornographic industry. I'm not a great

Bringing out the Dead, unfortunately, has fewer fans than it deserves. Why?
Because this isn't simply a "New York" movie, or a movie about a paramedic,
or about euthenasia, despite the ostensible setting and plot points.Instead, Scorsese has created a cinematic myth about how haunted modern
existence can be, and what it takes to be "saved" and find grace in a

This is a wonderful experience. Never mind that the acting is poor and the

notion.A central question in most art concerns the role of the viewer. This

I thought City Of Angels was very good. I'm usually very critical towards

Meg Ryan usually plays in Romantic Comedy's (Sleepless in seatle, You've
