I saw this at Sundance earlier in the year. I didn't know anything
about it going into the festival and it blew me away. Sharon Stone was
terrific. I'm not a huge fan of hers, but the scenes of her and her son
when he was a boy were terrific. Tom Arnold was also great as her car
sales/womanizing husband. Jimmy Fallon was oddly serious throughout the
film. I was hoping h...

The original title of this bleak film - WHEN A MAN FALLS IN THE FOREST
- was inexplicably shortened to the nebulous WHEN A MAN FALLS for the
release of the DVD: had the original title been retained, the audience
may have been given a clue as to the intended message of the story.
This is the second film for 26-year old writer/director Ryan Eslinger
and it does suggest that he wa...

I actually have to say this film didn't do it for me!!! Hands down
Della Reese had to have been the funniest in the movie but she had such
a small role. There were a lot of flaws in the continuity....some of
the time frames just didn't match up with background. Sharon Stone's
character was extremely funny at the beginning but it wore off really
fast as it started to...
2006
Genres: Crime    Mystery    Thriller

Starring: Stan Collymore, Sharon Stone, Neil Maskell, David Thewlis, Jan Chappell, ...

Well, I saw this movie yesterday and it's - unfortunately - worse than
you could think. First of all the plot is idiotic, it has no sense at
all. The screenplay is full of intentionally funny dialogues. The
audience was laughing many times. And the suspense is very low. Actors
play so-so, with an exception of Sharon Stone, who has some good
moments but also some awfully bad act...

Genres: Drama    Romance    Thriller

Starring: Sharon Stone, Rupert Everett, Julian Wadham, Michael Cochrane, Anne Lambton, ...

Watching this movie was a very disappointing experience. The premise
was good (like with most movies out there), but the execution was just
atrocious, and the story was unrealistic at best. For example, the
movie shows us that a westerner was allowed to go in and out of Soviet
Union, as well as go though streets of Moscow without any surveillance
in the midst of cold war!!Moreo...

...how movies like this get rushed into theaters.I honestly believe that when the idea of a Catwoman movie came across
someone's desk several years back, it was a good idea. Unfortunately
what turned up in theaters in 2004 was this mess! Having never picked
up a Catwoman comic book, I cannot judge the film on that background.
Knowing only of the old Batman TV show from the 60's, th...

Genres: Drama    Mystery    Thriller

Starring: Dennis Quaid, Sharon Stone, Stephen Dorff, Juliette Lewis, Kristen Stewart, ...

Many audience members of this thriller were disappointed (mostly thanks
to the misleading trailer for the film) because it lacked the
supernatural element they thought would be present. They needn't have
complained. The film is complete science fiction because not one
character in the entire thing remotely behaves like a human being!
Quaid and Stone play an NYC couple with high...

Genres: Drama    Romance    Comedy

Starring: Sharon Stone, Billy Connolly, Gil Bellows, Jurnee Smollett, Dillon Moen, ...

One of the biggest mysteries in the last few years is comedian Billy
Connolly's success as a screen actor. An Irishman in America unfortunately gets entangled with a crime mob and
fortunately gets entangled with Sharon Stone. There's one scene at the start of Beautiful Joe which I never see in movies
- someone taking out money from an ATM machine. Stone is incredibly
beautiful. She's...

This is the rarest of action films - one that engages your intellect not
just your senses. On the seabed in mid-ocean a huge vessel is discovered. A team is
dispatched to investigate - and what they find is beyond
belief.Admittedly there were a couple of scenes which I felt missed the intended
realism of the film, and occasionally it seemed far too obvious what was
going on, bu...

The trouble with making a children's film has always been to keep the kids
happy but avoid making Mum and Dad fall asleep. Disney have always stuck to
a solid "one cute song for every acidic aside" ratio which meant that the
over-15's got Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy doing a stripped down routine
whilst the 10 year olds got pretty pictures, cute animals and plenty of
slapsti...

To venture a remake of Clouzot's "Les Diaboliques" (1955) -- a film
that needed no remake in the first place -- only one thing was crucial:
a very creative filmmaker with a very personal style, so as to put away
comparisons with the classic French film. Someone like Kubrick, Von
Trier, Amen...

If you haven't seen Casino yet, stop whatever it is you're doing, rush to
the nearest video store, rent it, and watch it. Along with Mean Streets
Casino is probably Scorsese's most underrated and unheralded picture. I
would also venture to say that this is probably his most ambitious film.
The film deals with a particular time period and a particular atmosphere

Hey, I enjoy a good revenge movie as well as the next guy, even though
I know forgiveness is the better way. Revenge films satisfy base urges
in all of us. But, holy smokes, this crosses the line a little bit with
the glorification of such....at least with the ending (which I won't
give away but involves Sharon Stone's character).Along the way is a fun ride as the revenge-obsessed ...

"Sliver" was not nearly as bad as most reviewers have suggested, in my
opinion. It may be true that Joe Eszterhas rehashes his basic formula one
more time here - "Is the person with whom the hero/heroine gets sexually
involved a murdered or an innocent victim, framed by someone else?" - but
it's a formula that works, that grabs your attention instinctively. The plot
is flimsy, ...

Genres: Mystery    Romance    Thriller

Starring: Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, George Dzundza, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Denis Arndt, ...

Paul Verhoeven has created a masterwork from Joe Eszterhas'
controversial script. Several sex scenes become a leitmotif, as the
participants appear to pummel, rather than love, one another with
their nether parts. But the most rugged and the most erotic scene
occurs between Detective Nick Curran, Michael Douglas, and his
colleague, Beth Garner, portrayed by Jeanne Tripplehorn. ...

Genres: Action    Adventure    Sci-Fi    Thriller

Starring: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rachel Ticotin, Sharon Stone, Ronny Cox, Michael Ironside, ...

Set during an unspecified future era, Douglas Quaid (Arnold
Schwarzenegger) is a construction worker who longs for a trip to Mars.
His wife, Lori (Sharon Stone) isn't so keen on it--she'd prefer a trip

notices a television advertisement for a company named Rekall, which
specializes in memory implants of vacations...

Why is this movie rated so low? I admit that it is the fourth in the series
and that is getting pretty ridiculous but this one has many memorable
moments in it. Also where else can you go see Sharon Stone, David Spade,
and a speacial appearance by a young kid at the time named Tony Hawke. No
where else can you get so many people in one of their first movies. It is
also stil...

A solid shocker, ruined by a botched story and a ridicolous finale, but
already demonstrating the greatness of his director, Wes
Craven.
A couple of scenes in the movie (like the dream spider sequence with a young
and pretty Sharon Stone, and the almost heartstopping snake in the bath
scene) are really good and even the movie is good for more than half is
length.
Alas, ...
