Well, I liked it
I've read some of the extremely negative comments on this film, and I'm
surprised. I thought it was cute, funny, and imaginative, with some well-timed dramatic effects (when they cross the county line, the final fate of the woman with ice cream, ...). It even had a Ween song. If you're curious about the film, I urge you to see it for yourself, and don't be dissuaded by the negative reviews. BTW, to provide some background, I come from the 'sappy Simpsons = cra**y Simpsons' school, and I used to love Ren and Stimpy until Bill Camp took over. based on the TV serial, this movie is GREAT. The Animation and the story sucks but the charecters are too funny - you will not stop loughing, unless you are older than 10..

While my kids enjoyed this movie they didn't get half of the "jokes" that were slipped in for the adults. It is a great movie for the family to watch because it appeals to the children while having a little something for the parents as well..

This movie is a favorite of my children. They love the movie even though they don't understand half of what was put in there. It seems that the producers wanted something for the adults as well, and there is plenty for the parents to laugh about in this feature..
Hey... What's Not To Like?
THE SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS MOVIE (3+ outta 5 stars) Just from the title
alone you can probably tell if you are going to like this movie or not. If you like Spongebob for 30 minutes on TV, you'll like him 3 times as much at feature length. And if you can't stand the TV show then you probably have no business watching the film (or even reading this review). Personally I think the show is tremendously entertaining as far as modern days kids' cartoons go... and the movie is a worthy companion. Spongebob is passed over for promotion at The Krusty Krab because he's "just a kid" but gets a chance to prove his mettle when he and Patrick go off on a quest to recover King Neptune's stolen crown. Extremely silly movie... sure to entertain kids of all ages. Even their parents might be amused (the first 2 or 3 times they have to sit through it anyway). I think if you were to check out David Hasselhoff's resume... this might be the BEST movie he's ever appeared in (and he does a great job playing... himself).. |
