A golden opportunity wasted
Despite the bad reviews, I decided to give this movie a try. After all,
if you expect a film to be bad, in some ways you can still enjoy it, somewhat. Unfortunately it didn't happen with this movie. Through the duration it felt like someone had written a long list of things they like in movies, and tried to cram it all into the movie, without justifying it in the story. The casting for the younger Chun-Li's wasn't thought out very well, with the first being very Asian looking, and the second being very Western looking. The police characters felt very out of place in the film, obviously being there to provide sexual tension, but coming across as very forced and entirely unnecessary. Considering this film is from a fighting game, I would have expected good fight scenes, and a good explanation as to how Chun Li is able to do such amazing moves, but the explanation for such things was little move than her master blindfolding her once and telling her to find her way without using her senses, and meditation. Such a shame they chose such a poor way to do this, because they had an opportunity to use it for some real character development. In fact, the famous helicopter kick had no explanation at all, she just did it randomly in one of the many dull fight scenes. I felt Kristen Kruek's fighting scenes were unexceptional, but the fight with "Cantana" was just painful. When casting someone who would be doing fighting, they should make sure the actor can move faster than a senior citizen. Overall I felt this was a golden opportunity which was wasted by poor casting, and extremely poor writing.. teddyrico watch Crush movie

Don't know if I can finish watching it...
I'm almost thirty minutes into this movie, and I don't know if I can finish it... Wow... Nash is bad. My rating of this movie would probably go up at least two stars if they just deleted all of Klein's scenes.. and I've only seen two so far. Horrible acting, accents that come and go or don't exist at all... changing ethnicities of characters... horrible dialogue that you know was intended to be profound. Yeah... I don't think I can finish this one... and I've sat through a lot of crap movies. . |
