Okay first off....

This is NOT a pure remake of The Dukes of Hazzard....it's a Stand Alone
production, from the producer/writer/ director of Super Troopers, and
Club Dread. It's supposed to be a dukes of hazzard production taken
place TODAY.....NOT a remake or dedication type film.

Second, this movie Isn't a huge budget Hollywood movie.....it didn't go
down like that.

If you've never seen the original dukes of hazzard, DO NOT see it
before you watch this movie, because it may ruin the movie....because
your GOING to expect a remake/judgement comparison between the two....

Basically, if your a fan of dukes of hazzard, you probably will hate
this movie, because you've seen all the originals, and you WILL BE
EXPECTING a lot of things!!!

This movie should be viewed as a private stand-alone movie with new
actors...it's for the newer generation...NOT to be compared to the old
dukes.

Other than that, this movie is funny as hell, got kickass car chases
and stunts.

Jay went thru extra trouble to make sure the car stunts were realistic
and NOT CGI.....which he EASILY could have gone that route!!! Every car
stunt scene in this movie has a driver in the car or was done with
Chain driven ramp-launchers. He NEVER cut scenes between stunts....ALL
car stunts were done in ONE SOLID TAKE!!!

(he easily could have chopped up scenes to make a super fake looking
jump...but he didn't.)

They actually designed a special machine to launch cars JUST for this
movie, a machine which has NEVER been used before.

It's funny because i see so many bad reviews....yet when i saw this
movie in theaters, EVERYONE loved this movie...NEVER heard a complaint.

This was one of the movies that kept me wanting to race and build cars.

If you love cars or chases, this movie WILL get your blood pumping!

It's alittle cheesy at some points and immature comedy along the way,
but its Definitely got the vibe of a 70's classic muscle car...and one
of the VERY FEW movies that really captures the feel of a muscle car
doing what it does best...GO FAST..

I'll tell you what happened, some people with money thought it would be nice to ruin one of the best shows that was on TV. Did we really need a big screen re-make? Did they ask the fans? I wonder how all the fans would feel if they did a remake of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" with actors like Ashton Krutcher, Steve Martin, Britney Spears, and Kiefer Southerland, took out all the music, and made it a drama. Do you think they would like that! This movie does not have the same feel to it that the original had. Sure the original was a bit corny at times, but Bo and Luke were always nice, they got into trouble because they were always set up to get into trouble, and their main objective was to help people that passed through town. None of that mattered to the people that made this film, they might have never even seen the original show all the way through. My big question is, what will they ruin next?. Also I recommended.

"Hmm, a nice plot & clever jokes would be good, but let's just pack this film with stupid red-necks & drunken slap-stick." Please don't believe this stereotypical writing. We Southerners are not this stupid, I promise. The only good thing about this is that Jessica Simpson gives us a nice reminder of why we don't like to see pop-stars do movies. If she doesn't earn a Razzie, or at least a nomination, then there's no justice in this world. What ever you do, don't waste your time with this crap.

I don't understand why making remakes has become the trend. Every
remake I have ever seen is awful, and this is no exception. If any of
you have seen the quote from Ben Jones, that it is a "sleazy" piece of
trash, he is quite right. Why they would take a wonderful television
show, which I loved, have never missed an episode, and own seasons 1-4
on DVD, and ruin it, I'll never know. The television show was a family
show, and although Daisy has the body, it was really flaunted, or even
addressed in the show, save the outfits. A family show has been turned
in to a dirty piece of garbage, and I wouldn't recommend anyone go see
it. Another thing I didn't like was that John Schneider and Tom Wopat
are excellent actors (along with the rest of the original cast), and
they are also extremely cute. The new Bo and Luke are not even a little
cute. That was one of the drawers for the show. The casting is
terrible. They could have at least gotten a brunette for Daisy. I don't
think Burt Reynolds is a qualified Boss Hogg, either. Every other role
he has ever played is totally opposite this role. The only role they
cast halfway decent is Willie Nelson as Uncle Jesse, but still it is no
comparison. Denver Pyle is an actor all his own, and that made him
perfect for the role. I think that the casting is awful, the story is
awful, and all in all ruined a wonderful show and turned it into a
dirty, terrible movie. I wouldn't recommend anyone go see it. I only
saw it out of curiosity, plus there was a free ticket in season 4 DVD.
I would never have paid to see this movie, but it was free. DON'T PAY
TO SEE THIS MOVIE..
