Best/funniest movie of all time
I agree with bariman171, I saw this rendition of Pirates of Penzance at
the young age of 4. I fell in love with it at the first viewing and it continues to be my favorite movie at the age of 28. This movie was my first introduction to Kevin Kline and he remains favorite actor. Even though this is a total spoof on the original opera (which I also find wonderful) I took it very seriously at the age of 4. This movie got me through many sick days at home from school. This movie to me is 'comfort food' and I recommend it to anyone with a sense of humor. My son is only four months old and he already enjoys the soundtrack that is on my ipod, he even sings along.. cmpeverelle watch Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events movie

Thank you for smoking: a ferocious yet apparently mild attack against the hypocritical nature of modern society as regards "healthy habits". The most outstanding characters are the father (a representative of the tobacco industry) and his son, who, is surprisingly intelligent and incisive. A must, I woulkd say, and also a very entertaining film.
The american: George Clooney at his worst. Supossedly a hired killer, he is stalked -rather directly- by another killer belonging to his own agency. As far as the argument goes, it is attractive, but its tedious narrative and rythm make the film rather boring. Not even Clooney manages to make the film stand..

The American: Though This is the second time i have to write a review, i repeat, the film is rather boring ins spite of the cute italian town it takes place in end the presence of George Clooney, who, inthis fil at least, does not really impress..

Thank you for smoking: Outstanding film about "health worries". Brilliant father and son relationship. I''ve already written this.

Seven brides for seven brothers is still one of the all time great shows that makes the transfer to film seemlessly..

Loved this film! Kevin Kline is wonderful and Linda Ronstadt's voice is always amazing. Can't wait to make it a favorite of my kids too :).

loved Americas sweethearts . was a beautiful romantic comedy . zeta Jones really performed briliantly..
A DVD of this is long overdue
I saw the Kevin Kline-Linda Ronstadt-Rex Smith Pirates of Penzance on
Broadway and loved it. Then came the 1983 movie version, which I also loved. The orchestration and singing modernized the old Gilbert and Sullivan music but was faithful to it; and the actors-singers rejuvenated it. Furthermore, they (especially Kline, who's one of this country's best comic actors) brought out more laughs than I remember P of P having. Thanks especially to director Wilford Leach for this production. When, oh when, will a reputable company bring out a fresh DVD that's not a copy of the VHS? A quarter of a century after it came out is long enough to wait.. |
