I remember seeing the trailer of this movie when I was like 8 (now I'm
13). As you might think, all my boy friends wanted to watch "Four
Brothers" because of the blood and the guns. And all my girl friends
(including me) said it surely was a really stupid movie with a bunch of
guys just shooting to each other and that we were going to get
traumatized. OK, I was just 8 years old, I didn't know anything about
movies (not that I know something now).

But I saw this movie last Saturday evening, alone in my parents bedroom
while they were cooking and watching TV and I actually liked it. I
mean, sure, I was a bit scared during the whole movie and I even yelled
when Evelyn got shot but I still liked it. It woke "something" up
inside of me. First I loved Mark Wahlberg's acting, I always had him as
a very funny guy and now even more. André was OK but Tyrese was the
ladies man/loser we all know and love because he always gets the crazy
chick and everyone else knows that she is mental except of, obviously,
him. I loved Garrett Hedlund (<3), mainly because he is the youngest,
most innocent and (for me) the cutest. But I also loved his acting,
because he was funny and the sad scenes were real. I wanted to jump
inside the screen and hug him... It's needless to say I cried when he
got shot :(

So for me, it was a great movie and I would see it again, and again,
and again. :)

PS: Sorry if something doesn't make any sense. I've been studying
English since I was 2 but I guess I still need more practice..

it was a great movie to me .

When Angelic Mother Mercer is shot dead during a liquor store hold-up,
her four adopted sons go hunting for the perps and uncover small town
corruption in this contemporary western, inspired by The Sons of Katie
Elder. It's all a bit daft and looks very cheap, even by Singleton's
lo-fi standards. But this being Singleton (that rare breed of indie
director who refuses to be bought) there's some good social commentary
to be found among the flying bullets and boo-hiss villains - most
obviously, the fact that that modern families may not be exclusively
comprised of one race anymore. Great soundtrack too, including Marvin
Gaye and The Temptations, and cheerfully gung-ho performances from the
attractive leads - even if Marky Mark these days resembles a pork
scratching that's been left out in the rain..
