Ben Sobol, Psychiatrist, has a few problems: His son spies on his
patients when they open up their heart, his parents don't want to
attend his upcoming wedding and his patients' problems don't challenge
him at all. Paul Vitti, Godfather, has a few problems as well: Sudden
anxiety attacks in public, a certain disability to kill people and his
best part ceasing service when needed. One day, Ben unfortunately
crashes into one of Vitti's cars. The exchange of Ben's business card
is followed by a business visit of Don Paul Vitti himself, who wants to
be free of inner conflict within two weeks, before all the Mafia Dons
meet. Now, Ben Sobol feels somewhat challenged, as his wedding is soon,
his only patient keeps him busy by regarding Ben's duty as a 24 hour
standby and the feds keep forcing him to spy on Paul Vitti. And how do
you treat a patient who usually solves problems with a gun? This Is A
Great Comedy. I Went In It With Mixed Feelings Especially When I Don't
Like Robert DeNeiro But DeNeiro Does The Greatest Mobster Role Ever! I
Was Laughing From The Beginning Of Paul Vitti's Appointments Til The
Very End Of The Movie. It Was Hard To Believe DeNeiro Was A Respectable
Actor Because Of The Crying Scenes. Oh God This Movie Is Hysterical
Especially Ben & Paul's First Meeting When He Says "If You Turn Me Into
A Fag I'll Kill You" This Movie Is Too Damn Hilarious I Won't Spoil Any
Other Jokes Because The Less You Know About Jokes In A Comedy Movie The
Funnier It'll Be. All In All A Great Movie & I Already Regard It As A
Classic..

Very funny movie with lots of laughs. .

Take a ruthless gangster, give him some emotional problems, and then send him to see a shrink. The comic premise of "Analyze This" is so disarmingly simple that you'll be asking yourself 'why didn't I think of that?' Writer/director Harold Ramis ("Groundhog Day" and "Ghostbusters") then does one better by casting Robert De Niro (last seen in "Ronin") as the gangster, a role that parodies his usual scenery-chewing bombast, and Billy Crystal ("My Giant" and "Deconstructing Harry") as the hapless and harried psychiatrist. The end result is a very funny, and occasionally hilarious, film chock full of great lines and comically absurd situations..

I've read some of the other comments on this film, and please, let's not be
so serious! It was funny! And when a movie makes me laugh, I don't get so
critical. It was very entertaining and to scrutinize all its imperfections
doesn't do anything. It certainly wouldn't make the movie more
funny..
