Not the Mightiest Lion My Freaking Ass , , , , ,
I remember how one night, I was lucky to put my hands on all of the
first three episodes of "The Lion King". It has to be long night to finish this trilogy, so I've take some snacks, drinks, turned my lights off and after I make myself comfortable I've start watching first episode... I've watched first episode, then second, then third and while I was watching them, I was feeling how my mind escapes from this world/reality. About 5AM I've finished watching all of three "The Lion King" episodes and... I was amazed! I was shocked by these walt Disney masterpieces! I cant narrate what I was feeling then, I was like drug addicted! Next day I've watched second "The Lion King II: Simba's Pride" part again. Why I watched exactly second part of "Simba's Pride"? Don't really know... I cant say that I liked second part more than third, but maybe were was something more special in it. Anyway... I cant believe that some peoples can say that this movie (or any other episode from "The Lion King" trilogy) is boring! I'm trying to never reproach, if someone found boring any other movie or music, because everyone have his own opinion, but if we are talking about "The Lion King", then probably you don't like that kind of kiddie movies or something is wrong with you! Maybe you just don't get what's happening in it? "The Lion King" is more than just movies (I can except only first part, because it is more humanized than others), I cant explain it, but something is really special about them! It swells deeper and deeper in your brain... Damn! These movies really does something with your brain! Take a look on these masterpieces and try to watch all three episodes at one sitting - you should be amazed by psychical effect of these movies (like I was). This is the one of the best movies of all time. Yes, you've read it right. "The Lion King" are the best movies ever made! I just wish the aspect ratio would not change like a flickering light bulb throughout the movie. Good but not the original.
not as child friendly as the other two in the series
this animated Disney film was actually released before The lion King
1.5,although i don't think it really matters,since this is a sequel to the original and the The Lion King 1/5 wasn't.it was more about Timon and Pumba.anyway,this feature is my least favourite of the 3.for one thing,i don't think it's as child friendly.there are some really dark scenes,and some very dark dialogue to go with it.having said that,a lot of the movie is a love story.at least i feel it is.those moments in the movie are very tender and sweet.but for me,it just doesn't seem to have the magic of the first one,and it doesn't feel as lighthearted as 1/5 did.parents,you might want to screen the movie yourself before letting your young ones watch.particularly the battle scenes.for me,Lion King II: Simba's pride is a 5/10. |
