planed by the deliciously evil Cruella De Vil, who tries to make a fur out
of the puppies, and their heroic rescue by a bunch of animals, to a
90ies-Live-Action-Family-Entertainment, helmed by Stephen Herek (not a bad
idea, bringing in the man who directed the touching last-year-tearjerker
MR.
HOLLAND'S OPUS) and written by 80ies-Teenflicks-Maestro and
Kiddie-Movie-Creator John Hughes (a very bad idea, taking in the guy who
repeated his HOME-ALONE-formula once to often). Thanks to stupid kids
falling for the cute dogs a box-office and merchandising-hit this failed
attempt to evoke the loveliness and... well, kind of suspense of the
original with real human beings and BABE-like special-effects-animated
animals stands out from the usual modern children's fare by spectacular
costumes, art direction and a over-the-top comedy performance by sexy
Glenn
Close who is the only thing about the Remake that's better than the
original..

I loved this movie as a child and love it as an adult as well. The relationships shown, the humans to dog, the wife and the husband, the evil one against the good one, ect, the right and the wrong and the black and the white! I believe Cruella De Vil was most outstanding in this rols, as expected from Glen Close! If you haven't seen this in a long time, it's worth a redo..

i love this movie.

Making a live action film with animals is one of the well known don'ts in
entertainment. That and working with kids. They also have a habit of
being
rubbish films (Homeward Bound anyone?). Anyway, I liked this film, well
written, well acted and funny. 6/10..
