Solid Martial Arts film, no Bloodsport by any means, but still fine entertainment nevertheless!
I personally quite enjoyed The Quest it had a solid story to it and the
fights were Decent if not spectacular however the final one between
Abdel Qissi and Van Damme was somewhat disappointing considering it all
the potential it had, it still was a pretty good barn burner though. I
Liked the flashback scenes with Van Damme's mom dropping a note and
Chris(Van Damme) kept trying to pick it up and waking up, and Roger
Moore brought great comedy relief to this as well, plus I loved Van
Damme's makeup as the old man it was great!. The fights in the
tournament are a bit quick but still interesting, and Van Damme did an
alright job for a 1st time director the Fight choreography could have
been a little better, but overall a fairly nice job for a 1st time
Director!. It's not Van Damme's best Marital Arts film but all Van
Damme lovers are sure to love it, as i Highly recommend it to all
Martial art fans your bound to find at least some enjoyment in it!.
***1/2 out of 5

The Acting is well above average!. Jean Claude Van Damme is Not bad in
the acting department here, however it's his Marital Arts that really
shine, he is just truly fun to watch with his skills, he also had some
cool scenes with Roger Moore, pretty decent directing debut for Mr.
Jean Claude!. Roger Moore is very amusing Lord Dobbs and cracked me up
often throughout the film with his scheming ways and brought many great
moments!. James Remar is good as the expert fighter Maxie Devine he was
charismatic I liked him. Janet Gunn is good as the reporter she didn't
have anything special to do but did good nevertheless and was cute too.
Jack McGee is good as Dobb's friend he was funny. Aki Aleong is good as
Khao and had one great emotional scene. Abdel Qissi is certainly big
but to me he wasn't that menacing..
Well, the Titanic is a kind of sob story. It is good for us, if we want to take a big girl into bed, good after dinner but not before! Yes, i almost cried! My girl cried to!.

Better then I thought
I am not a Van Damme fan, i like some of his movies, and i hate others,
i have seen my fair share of Fighting movies in my life. In the end i
got really tired of it, so when i was told that there had been a new
Van damme movie i quickly thought that this movie was going to be the
same. I didn't know it was Van Damme that was the director and what
not, i thank god i didn't know that. If i did i surely would never have
seen it Van Damme made a story so likable, so interesting, i have
actually seen this movie a lot of times, more then i normally do. He
knew what everyone wanted, he knew what i wanted, this is an adventure
for the family. Van Damme plays Chris Dubois a man living with a group
of children in new york, suddenly he is forced to leave from new york,
and right from there he meets the funny and witty man Edgar Dobbs
(Roger Morre) the story is a little easy to figure out at sometimes,
but it is really enjoyable.

"Bless Their Souls".
