A bit campy but good
I think to take this movie as a serious attempt to recreate the Bond
character would not do it justice. This should be taken as a campy type of spy spoof that was built for the post communistic 60's. Coburn is at his best. Of course no one could do what flint does - some of you take this movie way too seriously..
Simply the BEST of the James Bond spinoffs!
With the incredible success of the early James Bond films, all the movie
studios were scrambling to come out with their own piece of the action. 20th Century Fox did it the best with the two Derek Flint movies, starring James Coburn in the title role, and the first, OUR MAN FLINT, in particular. This movie balances just the right amounts of action and toungue-in-cheek humor, with great production values and a superb score by Jerry Goldsmith.. |
