When you're running from a burning car...
...get out of the middle of the road! Duh.
I really like "Christine". It's one of my favorite John Carpenter films. Keith Gordon has done some exception work. See him in "All That Jazz", "Home Movies", "The Legend of Billie Jean", and especially "Static" to get some idea of his range. He evolved and did some very creative directing, as well. In "Christine" he works seamlessly with Alexandra Paul, John Stockwell, and Harry Dean Stanton. The music selected for this film is perfect! In fact, as movies go, it's hard to find anything wrong with this one. If you like horror films, Keith Gordon, or just an evening of movie fun...watch "Christine".. mr_asshole watch The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell Of Fear movie

COOL FAST GREAT MOVIE.
Well made in some area's, but feels a tad dull in others.
A high school youth falls in love with & buys a beautiful old time car
called Christine, little does he know, that this is no ordinary car, it's actually possessed and just loves to kill people (Especially his enemies!) by running them over, as time moves on, the youth slowly starts to go insane & the car soon tries to kill those close to him. CHRISTINE wasn't all that bad as a horror movie, in fact it was pretty decent for what it was, the film has this creepy feel running through it that helps to take you along for the rest of the ride (Pun intended!) & the actors really knew their stuff when it came to performing in their roles & Carpenter is on a roll as always with his direction, but with all that out of the way, the film (in my opinion anyways) just felt a little over long in places, with a few spots here & there in the movie that felt like sheer padding, why I haven't a clue, it just felt like that (Could be just me) & the ending to the film felt a bit flat in some ways, especially since the film had some pretty good momentum leading up to it. STEPHEN KING/JOHN CARPENTER fans should have a hoot watching it, just don't ponder the details to much. *** stars. |
